Here we go with the second blog!

Do we need to reimagine education? What concerns and/or excites you about this approach? I like the idea of reimagining education, thought I think the MLTS documentary took things farther than I would. I find things are always so polarized, either extremely structured or extremely open… I like the idea of somewhere in the middle! Not everybody will benefit from the same style of education. Therefore, I find both super structured and super free methods to be concerning. I like the idea of balance, which gives children equal opportunities and provides them with a range of experience to better prepare for the variety of situations they may find themselves in after graduation.
Pros & cons of Lesson Plans vs. Learning Plans? “A learning plan is a document that is used to plan learning. Whereas, a lesson plan is typically a step by step guide/ outline with small goals and objectives the students will accomplish during a day’s work, week’s work or even a semester long.” – Arnelle Basi (https://arnellebasi.opened.ca/2020/01/14/lesson-plans-vs-learning-plans/)
I love the idea of lesson and learning plans. I am all about structure and planning… that way even if things fall a part, I may have thought of some back up plans. I think this is especially important for new teachers!
What are the potential benefits of creating a robust PLN? A creative commons?Allows for increased sharing and discussion with peers. Give the opportunity to share with like-minded folks, allowing an ebb and flow of information and ideas. A creative commons allows an expansive range of ideas and information to be easily accessible for a variety of educators. While I like this idea of sharing and outsourcing, I find it a little intimidating. I am still learning to love technology.

Here is a YouTube video I found regarding PLN. I am a big fan of this style of videos that simplify ideas that are new to me! It breaks down the idea of a Personal Learning Network, as per Marc-André Lalande.
